The Norwegian Gaming and Foundation Authority is a state governmental body with two underlying authorities - The Gaming Authority and The Foundation Authority.

The Gaming Authority

The Gaming Authority supervise and control all private and state operated lotteries, in addition to gambling and horse racing, in Norway. Gambling and horse racing are organized through the companies Norsk Tipping and Norsk Rikstoto which have a national monopoly on gambling and horse racing respectively. The Foundation Authority

Norwegian foundations are submitted to supervision and control by The Foundation Authority. The basic element in this work is to secure that the foundations are loyal to their purposes.
There are close to 8500 foundations i Norway, out of which appox. 1000 are business foundations.
